We're looking for someone to work directly with our Vice President - People and have a hand in the full spectrum of the employee experience at Zap.
 
As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day operational and tactical support for the team at Zap Energy. This role has broad responsibilities on the People team spanning recruiting, onboarding, training, benefits administration, and employee engagement. This is an opportunity to join a growing team at an exciting phase of development working directly with our VP - People.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Directly source candidates and manage the recruitment workflow from initial application/contact through selection
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding
  • Organize and administer internship programs and university relations
  • Support the rhythm of the business activities such as annual review processes, engagement surveys, reporting requirements, and other process cycles
  • Assist with training development, scheduling, and delivery
  • Process benefits enrolments, updates, and answer employee questions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvement
  • Manage special projects across a broad range of areas as business needs arise
  • Proactively support managers and employees to resolve issues and communicate results/findings
  • Stay up to date on labor laws and compliance to create and maintain policies and employee resources
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 6+ years Related Experience in an HR specialist or generalist role
  • 4+ years sourcing and talent acquisition experience
  • Knowledge of HR regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of HR technology including HRIS and ATS
  • Experience in handling performance management issues.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to think proactively and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive data with confidentiality and exercise appropriate judgment.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize workload, but also work collaboratively and effectively with other team members.
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $85K – 115K. Candidates may be considered for other positions at Zap Energy and the actual salary will be based on relevant education, experience, and other qualifications.  The range is published in accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act.

Zap Energy is building a low-cost, compact, and scalable fusion energy platform that confines and compresses plasma without the need for expensive and complex magnetic coils. Zap’s sheared-flow-stabilized Z-pinch technology provides compelling fusion economics and requires orders of magnitude less capital than conventional approaches. Zap Energy has approximately 150 team members in multiple facilities near Seattle and is backed by leading financial and strategic investors.
